Frequently Asked Questions
How is the Elbow Enforcer different from traditional armcare?
Traditional armcare is shoulder biased and does not target the forearm. The muscles and tissues in the forearm are what protect the UCL from injury and increase elbow stability. The Elbow Enforcer targets these muscles, giving your elbow lasting strength and protection.
What is FDS reinforcement, and why does it matter for pitchers?
The FDS muscle is the primary elbow stabilizer and UCL protector. The FDS and UCL share 30-50% of the same area, which means that the FDS acts as a shield for your UCL! Strengthening the FDS strengthens that shield.
Weak FDS muscles can reduce velocity, cause poor command, and increase the risk of injury for pitchers.
Studies have shown that FDS activity alone contributes to medial elbow stability. (Hoshika S, Nimura A, Takahashi N, Sugaya H, Akita K. Valgus stability is enhanced by flexor digitorum). superficialis muscle contraction of the index and middle fingers. J Orthop Surg Res. 2020 Mar 30;15(1):121. doi: 10.1186/s13018-020-01640-7. Can this really help me avoid Tommy John surgery or injury?
This is a great question!
Strengthening the forearm with Elbow Enforcer will help you build a durable, resilient elbow.
Many factors contribute to each individual's risk of injury, and there is no one-size-fits-all blanket solution. We recommend aligning all facets of your training and performance to decrease the risk of Tommy John.
Please consult a trusted sports medicine professional to develop an injury-prevention plan that is right for you.
Is there any data that supports the effectiveness of this device?
We demonstrated consistent increases in the strength of the FDS during testing.
Sports medicine literature supports the fact that the FDS, FCU, and Pronator Teres are the only muscles that attach to the medial epicondyle, and through training can shield and stabilize the UCL.
How often should I use the Elbow Enforcer?
In a performance setting, most pitchers will use it twice a week on days where they are throwing a bullpen or pitching competitively.
Your purchase of the Elbow Enforcer Device includes the Durability System, which will provide training schedules and tips.
Do I need a coach to show me how to use it?
Because the device is built for pitchers, it is intuitive and straight-forward. The Durability System (incl. with purchase) will include Elbow Enforcer Exercises and Tips.
Is it only for pitchers?

However, many people can benefit from forearm strength.
We are planning on testing with golf, tennis, and pickleball athletes in the near future.
